Unwind and relax with a unique sound bath experience led by a healing practitioner and Reiki Master from SND Bath. Rebecca will be joined for the March session by sound healer, Ebony McClellan Medina of The Ebony Yogi Foundation.
This journey of sound incorporates angelic healing sounds which radiate from quartz crystal bowls tuned to your body’s energy system. The process works to move energetic blockages, reduce stress, and promote healing in the body.
You will hear native drums that mimic the cleansing and clearing sound of ocean waves and gentle tones from Koshi chimes tuned specifically to the four elements. You will see calming ocean views that include whale sharks, manta rays, and so much more.
New this year: featuring a special Lululemon giveaway at the end of class!
Get tickets now, space is limited! Tickets are $29.99 per person and include a 60-minute class and complimentary parking in Georgia Aquarium’s parking garage. Doors open at 6:00 pm; class begins at 6:30 pm.
While not required, we suggest bringing an eye mask, yoga mat, as well as a blanket for comfort as participants get cold when their systems slow down during a sound bath.
The practice of Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is true mind-body participatory medicine, allowing students to practice self-awareness in a present-moment mindset that creates room for healing and growth. Each day of the workshop begins by allowing participants to "arrive" with the practice of a basic pranayama technique, while introducing the practice of “listening to the inner voice.” The next part of the workshop is a 30-minute lecture introducing the 7 orientations used in MBSR to cultivate proper attitude. The next part is a guided meditation, applying what was learned. The workshop concludes with standing Hatha yoga practice, which layers mindfulness in with yoga. There is time for journaling throughout the time together, and group discussion will be facilitated for anyone who would like to share. This workshop is great for anyone who would like to manage stress effectively through the practice of mindfulness. Session 1 - June 8th - THE ANCHOR: In the practice of MBSR, The Anchor serves as a vital tool to ground ourselves in the present moment. While the breath is commonly employed as an anchor, there exists significant benefit in incorporating a sankalp, or intention, into our practice. During the initial session of the workshop, participants are guided through the process of establishing their chosen anchor and encouraged to integrate it seamlessly into their mindfulness exercises. This foundational step lays the groundwork for cultivating a deeper awareness and connection with the present moment, fostering a sense of tranquility and resilience amidst life's challenges. Session 2 - June 15th - THE FRAME: In this session we begin with the concept of The Frame as a tool for shifting perspectives and reducing stress. By exploring habitual thought patterns that lead to stress and limitations, participants learn to challenge limiting beliefs that contribute to narrow perspectives. This session explores strategies for expanding mental boundaries and embracing the daily practice of MBSR. By delving into "The Frame" concept, participants are guided towards a deeper appreciation of the multifaceted benefits of MBSR, laying the groundwork for continued exploration and growth throughout the journey.
